Product Care

Keep your gear looking great for years to come

Leather is built to last — that’s why we love it. Every scratch, mark, and bit of wear adds to its story. With just a little care, your piece from King Leather Goods will age beautifully and last for decades.

1. Regular Cleaning

  • Wipe your leather with a soft, dry cloth occasionally to remove dust and debris.

  • For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth or a mild leather cleaner — never soak the leather.

  • Always let it air dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight.

  • Avoid baby wipes, alcohol-based cleaners, or harsh soaps; they can strip natural oils and cause cracking.

2. Conditioning

  • Leather needs moisture to stay flexible.

  • Every few months (or when it starts to feel dry), apply a small amount of leather conditioner such as Bick 4 or another neutral, non-darkening product.

  • Rub in a thin layer with a soft cloth using circular motions.

  • Let it absorb for 15–30 minutes, then buff with a clean cloth.

  • Too much conditioner can clog pores and cause the leather to lose its natural finish.

3. Protecting

  • Keep leather away from excess water.

  • If it gets wet, gently blot it dry and allow it to air out.

  • Avoid extreme temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight, as these can dry or fade the surface.

  • For light water resistance, apply a thin coat of leather protectant or beeswax-based balm.

4. Storing

  • Store leather goods in a cool, dry place with good airflow.

  • Avoid plastic bags or sealed containers — leather needs to breathe.

  • Stuff wallets or bags with tissue paper if you want them to keep their shape.

5. Aging Gracefully

  • Every scuff and scratch is part of your story.

  • Over time, leather develops a patina — a soft sheen that only comes with use and care.

  • You can minimize marks, but we believe they make each piece one-of-a-kind.

  • From the first scratch to the last shine — that’s the beauty of real leather.

Uniqueness & Variation in Our Leather Goods

Each handcrafted leather item is one of a kind. Using natural leather and traditional techniques, no two pieces are identical. Variations in color, grain, texture, and finish are natural characteristics of genuine leather, adding to the charm of each item.

These differences are not flaws but unique features that make your piece special. While we strive to represent our products accurately in photos, slight variations in tone and finish may occur.

By purchasing, you embrace the natural beauty of handcrafted leather. If you have questions about a specific item, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help!
